Sightseeing At Rush Hour
We all have that one friend who is so crazy about hockey they live, eat and breathe it. Or maybe that's you. Either way, here's the unrivalled Neil Donell singing (and me lip-syncing, for some reason) a tongue-in-cheek singalong about the most important person in the hockey world, The Fan!
I started writing "He Would Have Wanted It That Way" ages ago, but I only had two verses and got stuck. The third verse came to me when I heard that Cee Lo Green had performed John Lennon's "Imagine" and changed the line "And no religion too" to "And all religion's true" and I got hot thinking about how much Lennon would have hated that.
I wanted to write a singalong song, and realized that the easiest lyric to learn on the spot is a nonsense lyric, so I invented "Loliolay" to fit a melody I had in my head. Little did I know it would become an insidious earworm...
I've recorded this song a few times over the years, but I never got the instrumentation just right until this time.
So thrilled with Nicole's lovely vocal on this! |
"I Was Wrong" is a song I wrote for two friends who were splitting up after several years of marriage. Have you ever heard a Techno-Country-Rock-Rap dance tune before? Well here it is, graced with Roman Wilde's punchy rock vocal and a guest rap from the incomparable Mystah Munroe!
This isn't part of the album because it's...uh...by a totally anonymous band called "Super Optimistic" who do extremely unlikely cover songs. It has nothing to do with me, I don't even know why it's on this website.

Super Optimistic is at it again, this time covering Yes' "Roundabout" as a dance song.

This is a song I wrote and recorded in the early '90s with the inimitable Rique Franks. What a voice!

Here's a song I wrote and recorded back in the 80's with Mary Lu Zahalan while waiting for my ship to come in. Still waiting.

Cassandra Hodgins did an amazing job singing and performing this Star Trek song I wrote for the 50th Anniversary!

One morning I woke up with a song in my head and after a little while I realized that I hadn't heard it before. Soon it became apparent that I'd made it up while I slept, so I worked on it a bit and finished it off, with the help of Rique Franks' blistering rock vocal!
