Lyrics

PARTY ON THE ENTERPRISE

There's a party on the Enterprise
I see disco lights across the skies
The Federation loves to fraternize
And those alien girls love the Star Fleet guys!

How Uhuru laughed and laughed
When Spock was dancing on the bar
Later in the shuttlecraft,
They re-enacted the Pon Farr

Kirk tells Bones to take a spin
On the turntables in sickbay
He just sputters, "Dammit Jim,
"I'm a doctor, not a DJ!"

CHORUS

Yeoman Janice was like a daughter
To Captain Kirk, but she wanted more
Invited him into her private quarters
Where no man has gone before

Party crashers are beaming aboard!
Romulans, Klingons and Gorn, oh my!
Show them where the drinks are poured,
And not one red shirt has to die.

CHORUS

Dancing with a Wodka Snapple,
Chekov finds a new comrade
Gene is dancing with Nurse Chappell,
And Sulu boogies down with Brad

Impulse Engines aren't enough
To party at the speed of light
But Scotty has the crystal stuff
We'll party through the night! - Warp One
(Break out the Saurian Brandy)
Warp Two
(Pour it in the torpedo tubes)
Warp Three
(Aim them at the dance floor)
Warp Four
(And FIRE!)

CHORUS

NUMBER ONE HOCKEY FAN

I paint my face
With the colours of the team
And every game
I get caught up in the dream
I’m the Number One Hockey Fan

My favourite player
Is Number ninety-five
I wear his jersey
September to July
I’m the Number One Hockey Fan

Oh, I belong to thirteen fantasy leagues
I even know the personal stats of all the referees
I grow a beard for every playoff race
And hockey memorabilia fills every room in my place

My fireplace hearth is painted like an NHL crease
And there’s a full-sized replica Stanley Cup sittin’ on the mantelpiece
I’m the Number One Hockey Fan
Number One, that’s what I am!

(Chorus)

I’m always hoarse from screaming every game
Doesn’t matter, rinkside or on TV, I scream just the same
And I knew I’d found my soulmate when she asked
If when we fooled around I’d wear a goaltender’s mask

But she knows the game’s my first love, she won’t keep us apart
I’ve got a goal-light in my brain and a puck for a heart
I’m the Number One Hockey Fan
Number One, that’s what I am!

(Chorus)

ACCIDENTALLY ON PURPOSE

I used to live the lie
That love was wrong
I was the kind of guy who never let on
Some girls would really try
And I’d submit
But Accidentally On Purpose I’d quit

Sometimes I’ve used a lie
To hide my hand
What may seem improvised is carefully planned
I swore I’d never show
Where my heart hid
But Accidentally On Purpose I did

Accidentally On Purpose fell in love with you
And Accidentally On Purpose you fell for me too!

I am the bad decision that you will not regret
The same one your ex-boyfriend can’t forget
I left a long impression, you left scratches pon mi neck
Oh, so much for flying solo, now we’re singing a duet
When you tell me say you love me, thought I was lying to you
When I replied with I love you too
Now the pretty little lie is just the naked truth
That it was only myself who I was lying to!

Accidentally On Purpose fell in love with you
And Accidentally On Purpose you fell for me too!

I’m done with telling lies
And one-night stands
And girls who only date musicians in bands
I climbed that giant stage
I hid my heart well
But Accidentally On Purpose I fell

Accidentally On Purpose fell in love with you
And Accidentally On Purpose you fell for me too!

I AIN'T GOT LOVE

I ain’t got love
I ain’t got love and happiness
I ain’t got love
It’s breaking my heart but I must confess
I ain’t got love
I only got tears where my eyes should be
I ain’t got love
I need someone like you to rescue me

Long ago I had love
Turned out to be a bad love
And it’s gone
So long
Put my heart in a jail cell
Turned the key and said Farewell
To love
Bye bye love
So many years I’ve played this song
So many years I’ve prayed Be strong
Now don’t you think I’ve waited long enough?

CHORUS

Took a turn on a soundstage
I ended up on the front page
What fun!
Number one
Now I’m livin’ the high life
But the truth is my life
Is a lie
I just cry
No, it ain’t all mink and yachts
So when you see me drinkin’ shots
Don’t be fooled, don’t think I’ve got it all

‘Cause I ain’t got love…

I WAS WRONG

We were meeting in a neutral place
To itemize our lives
And divide them up to satisfy the law,
And when I recognized your stony face
And the anger in your eyes
All at once I saw exactly what you saw:

I know I promised that I would love you
And I promised that I’d be yours
And I promised you need not worry
About anything any more;
But the guilt, lies and compromise
The list has grown so long
And now the time has come to tell you:
I Was Wrong

I remember in another time
A million years ago
When we planned to build the castle of our dreams…
But the years ahead were not so kind
And castles are so cold
And the faithful life is not for kings and queens

I know I promised that I would love you
And I promised that I’d be yours
And I promised you need not worry
About anything any more;
But the guilt, lies and compromise
The list has grown so long
And now the time has come to tell you:
I Was Wrong

I tried
As hard as I knew how
I tried
To live up to my vow
I tried
To make it work
But now I’ll slip away

You can blame it on naivete
Or blame it on our youth,
You can trace it back to something in the past;
Well, you can claim that it was me
But we will always know the truth:
When the trust is gone, the union cannot last

I know I promised that I would love you
And I promised that I’d be yours
And I promised you need not worry
About anything any more;
But the guilt, lies and compromise
The list has grown so long
And now the time has come
The time has come to tell you:
I Was Wrong
I Was Wrong

WHERE DID I GO RIGHT?

Where did I go right?
What did I say?
How'd I get so lucky
That my life turned out this way?
Who'd have ever guessed
The future was so bright?
When will I wake up and find
That this was all a dream?
Where did I go right?

On the night we met
Well, I wasn't at my best
Now, I had seen an angel
But I wasn't really sure
If I could pass the angel test.
You were out of my league,
So imagine my surprise
When you kissed me anyway,
And as I walked away
I pondered why?

Where did I go right?
What did I say?
How'd I get so lucky
On this lucky, lucky day?
Who'd have ever guessed
The future was so bright?
When will I wake up and find
That this was all a dream?
Where did I go right?

On the day we wed
Well, I didn't have a dime
And even so this
Beauty at my side
Made a promise to be mine!
And as I stood and tried
To hear the words the preacher said
I could only hear the sound
Of the question that was pounding
In my head:

Where did I go right?
What did I say?
How'd I get so lucky
On this monumental day?
Who'd have ever guessed
The future was so bright?
When will I wake up and find
That this was all a dream?
Where did I go right?

You know I can't tell you all the times that I've been wrong
The times I've well and truly sung my swan song
But those were all before I found a new direction
With the woman of my dreams!

And after all these years
My love will never end,
There's no one else
As beautiful to me,
As a lover or a friend
Through all the battles that we've won
And all the dragons that we've slain
To me you’re still the best,
And I ask myself the question
Once again:

Where did I go right?
What did I say?
How'd I get so lucky
All these years you've let me stay?
Who'd have ever guessed
The future was so bright?
When will I wake up and find
That this was all a dream?
Where did I go right?

LIFEBOAT (THE DEVIL'S CALM)

Now that your world is sinking

It's time to wonder why

Day after day of drinking

Won't wash away the lie

Trying to drown that inkling

Will hurt you by and by

Lifeboat

Please float

This broken form

Beyond the storm

And save you from

The Devil's Calm

Of coke and rum and

Now that your time is ended

It's time to say goodbye

Everyone you've offended

Would love to see you cry

Everyone you've defended

Will want you clean and dry

Lifeboat

Please float

This broken form

Beyond the storm

And save you from

The Devil's Calm

Now I will row

And you should go

To sleep

I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU'RE WEARING

You look cute
In an old track suit
It's oversize but it can't disguise
Your attributes
But you come down
In an evening gown
And you look like a movie star
From Tinseltown

You look fine
In your Calvin Kleins
A girl in jeans with her magazines
And a glass of wine
You look great
Like a fashion plate
But fashion ain’t
The part that I appreciate

'Cause you know
I don't care what you're wearing
Because I love you just the same
Now honey if I might be so daring
I think you'd look best
In a wedding dress
Yeah, you'd look best
In a wedding dress

You look cute
In your birthday suit
Now I want to stay and play all day with forbidden fruit
Later on
You put your clothes back on
And ask me how you look in your Yves St. Laurent

But you know
I don't care what you're wearing
I will always love you just the same
Now honey if I might be so daring
I think you'd look best
In a wedding dress
You know
I don't care what you're wearing
Because I love you just the same
Now honey if I might be so daring
I think you'd look best
In a wedding dress
Yeah, you'd look best
In a wedding dress
So Just Say Yes

LOLIOLAY

I DON'T HAVE YOU

SHINE

HE WOULD HAVE WANTED IT THAT WAY

I know a beautiful girl
Her daddy worked very hard
He wanted just to retire
But he never made it that far
And then the pension was paid
And all the money was spent
On living out on the town
While he was paying her rent

And she said, “Hey, he would have wanted it that way.”

And when the holy man spoke
They wrote down all his beliefs
And then they wrote even more
About his message of peace
And when he finally died
They fought a war in his name
Fought just as hard as they fought
Before that holy man came

And they said, “Hey, he would have wanted it that way.”

Since the dawn of man
Countless souls have had to plan
What they wanted when they went to their reward
Adding up their lives
'Til that final day arrives
When you know that what they don't know
Won't hurt them any more!

And when I'm done with this world
And all that's left is my song
I know that somebody somewhere
Will be singing it wrong
‘Cause though my meaning is clear
And though you're reading it right
I know some silver-tongued devil
Will spin my day into night

And say, “Hey, he would have wanted it that way.”

RONICA

AUTOPILOT (WHILE YOU PARTY I DRIVE)

Sit down
Hang your coat around the chair
We are so
Glad you made it here
Come join the party,
haven’t seen you so long!
Waitress
Could we add another plate?
Yes one more
Table would be great!
Hope no one minds ‘cause we’ll be singing our song…

We’ll be singing

Loliolayliololiolayliolo
Loliolayliololiolayliolo
When we get together,
it’s how we say ‘hello’
We sing
Loliolayliololiolayliolo

Tell me
How ya doin’? How’s the fam?
Last time I
Saw you, you were slammed;
You’ve got to learn
to take it easy, my friend.
Lately
We’ve been comin’ here a lot
That waitress
Dresses kinda hot
And it’s just the kind of place where people join in
When we’re singing

Loliolayliololiolayliolo
Loliolayliololiolayliolo
When we get together,
it’s how we say ‘hello’
We sing
Loliolayliololiolayliolo

Laugh Out Loud,
It’s Only Love Around You
Sing our song,
and let that love surround you!

When you’re
Tired of working on your own
Shut down
Your screen
and ditch the phone,
Past five o’clock it’s time to turn off your brain…
Make some time
For hanging with your friends
Each day
We’re closer to the end
Don’t pass up one more chance to sing it again

When we’re singing

Loliolayliololiolayliolo

I’ve got this heart
But I don’t feel it beating
And I’ve got these lips
But they don’t wear a smile
I’ve got these eyes
But I don’t see the answers
‘Cause I don’t have, no I Don’t Have You

I’ve got these words
But there’s no one to talk to
And I’ve got these arms
But there’s no one to hold
I’ve got these dreams
But there’s no one to share them
‘Cause I don’t have, no I Don’t Have You

And I Don’t Have You
When I feel my world closing in
I Don’t Have You
To help me believe that I’ll win
No one to share
Though I search everywhere
And I dream of you
And it feels so true
That I reach for you in the night
But there’s no one there!

Oh, I Don’t Have You

And I Don’t Have You
When I feel my courage is gone
I Don’t Have You
Telling me I have to go on
You hold the key
To the best I can be
And I say my prayer
That you’re out there somewhere
And you’re waiting for me

I’ve got these games
But they don’t make me happy
I’ve got these songs
But they just make me blue
I’ve got this heart
But I don’t feel it beating
‘Cause I don’t have, no I Don’t Have You
No I don’t have, I Don’t Have You

(Keyes/Zero/Grant)

I supply the luxury
A bag of chips, a place to be
And you supply the company
I like your taste, I like your style
You always seem to make me smile
Your happiness rubs off on me

‘Cause love is your direction
Kindness is your way
Compassion is your instrument
And when you start to play
Oh, you can
Shine

As you sparkle through your day
Your every smile’s another ray
Of understanding sympathy
No matter what the shadows say
You never try to look away
Your radiance is all I see

Your method is affection
Your consequence is peace
It ripples out to those around
And everybody sees
How you can
Shine

Yes you can
Shine

I know all that you’ve been through
And I know the way that you
Will always somehow make things right
Yes, it’s true a price is paid
Turning darkness into light
That you can
Shine

Yeah you can
Shine

When Ronica bought me and opened the case
When I optical-scanned her beautiful face
I knew I could help her, that my artificial
Intelligence would be, to her, beneficial
My program was written to make it official
I knew I would help her and love her and serve her
Be more than robotic, obey her with fervor
But in the end my love was just sacrificial

When Ronica bought me and set me to 'Please'
I thought I'd be loving her down on my knees
I thought I could touch her erogenous zone
And get her alone, and get her to moan
But instead I was shown to the back of her home
And given a cleaning routine 'til it gleamed
And cooking and running the washing machine
With all the romance of a cellular phone.

When Ronica bought me and put me to work
She treated me badly, she drove me berserk
She acted as though I was just a machine
Undressing in front of me, acting so mean
Like the girls that I've seen in a teen magazine
She never imagined a robot could please her
And so she became my overclock teaser
And my interface stuttered and froze on the screen

I know that my love is against the rules but it's cool if a jewel as fine as mine gives a sign that she's taken a shine but I know it ain't so even though I am dreaming we're teaming.
I want to be first on her list but the twist that I missed was when she dismissed me and just gave me chores like mopping the floors and now I feel like screaming. Aaaaah!

She knows how to push all my buttons
I can't force-quit her
Her lips say zero but her eyes say one
I can't get in...so maybe she's a Captcha
I want to crash at her place tonight
I think the Roomba is hitting on me
I havent programmed that path yet
Oh Ronica!

Your mama said no don't drink and drive,
Now what would she think if she knew that I've,
Been keeping you and your friends alive,
With my auto pilot, while you party I drive.
While you party I drive.

I see you toking up another hit,
From a PAX 2 full of that chronic shit,
You can't see the freeway through tiny slits,
Where your eyes should be, while you party I drive.
While you party I drive.

I had to be there to take the wheel,
When the kid ran out and the shit got real,
If you ran him over how would you feel,
For the rest of your life, while you party I drive.
While you party I drive.

I don't know why your girlfriend took the chance,
At highway speeds zipping down your pants,
I'll never understand how young romance
Survives, while you party I drive,
While you party I drive.

Through a drunken haze your eyes are moist
The world's on fire, but you've got no voice
The end is near and you've got no choice
But suicide, while you party I drive
While you party I drive.

I got a bad feeling when the whole crew,
Made a dent in y'all's fentanyl, specially you,
And the scaremonger's promises all came true,
Time for a cliff-dive
While you party I drive,
While you party I drive.
